Diversify Your Portfolio

Like many first time alpaca owners our first encounter with alpacas was by watching TV with Mike Rowe on Dirty Jobs. 

In the fall of 2008 a local alpaca farm had an open house and we stopped in for a visit.  My first thought was, wow, these are weird looking animals. My husband described them as being fuzzy serpents.  What also caught my attention was how many animals they had per acre (10:1).  That night I went home and started reading about everything alpaca.

Since we are just staring out on our alpaca adventure I urge you to read up on these animals yourself and keep an eye on our new owners section to see what we did to get into the business.
