FAF: Fiber not Politics

Hi Fiber Arts Friday Folks

To Hades with politics let’s do fiber!

First the Ugly Square has grown 2 more rows.  Finally away from bright colors and back to natural.

The election has me all rattled and I had started and frogged about 10 different projects until I found this Pineapple Shawl.  I think it will look awesome done up with my home grown white alpaca/tencel yarn and perfect for a my New Year’s Eve party.   At least that’s the plan.  We’ll see how it turns out.  Since I’ve been in a frogging mood it might not actually make it that far but we’ll see!

I’ve extended our Lollypop Skein giveaway… be sure to check out the Giveaway post on https://www.facebook.com/DutchHollow for details.

Speaking of Braiding. Here’s a new one I’m currently working on just in time for hunting season.  I call it Camo.

UPDATE: as of 9am this morning this leash has already been sold.   If anyone wants one like it let me know.

Other than that I’ve started my first ever sweater project!  Well Sweater Vest anyway.   The yarn is hand spun by Seven Spirits Farm from our boy CoHo.  I’ve always wanted a sweater out of him so now is my chance.  I’m thinking it’ll be another year before I finish it.

Well here’s photos of how far I’ve gotten and what my finish product hopes to look like.

FAF: Down and Out

Hello Fiber Arts Friday Fans,

I didn’t get much done thanks to a kidney stone which is driving me totally nuts.  Stuck inside and with an infection thanks to the little bugger.  ERRR.

I did manage to dye up some alpaca and hand card it into mini roving bumps.  There’s about 2 oz here.  $6 if anyone wants it otherwise it’s going into my stash for Tour de Fleece.  Gosh that is coming up pretty quick too! Yikes!

The only other thing I managed to do was make about 60 ft of iCord and dye it up for another dog leash.  It’ll be the same Royal Blue and Tan as the leash I made a few weeks ago but the owner wants this one 8 ft long instead of 6 ft.

Well that’s it.  I’ll leave you with a little video of me hosing off the girls.  It’s been so darn hot lately.  The one with the bandana is Beanie, we’re still waiting for her to have her cria, she’s 10 days overdue now.
